MDF sheet (medium density fibreboard) – a versatile thin MDF panel for joinery, furniture making, shopfitting and DIY. Ideal for wall panelling, shaker and tongue-and-groove style feature walls, cabinet backs, drawer bottoms, signage, display boards and decorative panels.

Available in standard, moisture resistant (MR) and fire resistant (FR) grades and a choice of sheet sizes. Every grade offers a smooth, flat surface and a dense, uniform core with no knots or grain, so it cuts, routes and machines cleanly and takes primer and paint exceptionally well. Standard MDF is the go-to choice for interior projects in dry conditions. Moisture resistant MDF is made with moisture-resistant resins for kitchens, bathrooms and other humid rooms, and is commonly identifiable by its green-tinted core. Fire resistant MDF is treated to reduce surface spread of flame for commercial interiors, shopfitting and public buildings where fire-rated panels are specified.

Use a fine-toothed blade for clean cuts, wear suitable dust protection when cutting or sanding, and seal edges before painting for the smoothest finish.
